Catherina has worked in the moving industry since 2006. She is responsible for partner relationships, new partner development, pricing, RFP response management, and support of the operational team. Stier also manages corporate account business development in the German section of Switzerland. Driven to be active in all aspects of the industry, she has traveled around the world, strengthening relationships with companies and individuals while gaining a deep understanding of the issues that affect industry leaders.

As the Core Member Representative at Large, Stier has taken an active leadership role in several committees working to ensure that membership interests are fully represented. As chair of the membership restructuring committee, Stier guided the committee on developing the current IAM membership structure and also took the lead on the Volunteer Engagement Taskforce. The taskforce was established to strengthen the association’s governance function by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of volunteer leaders.

She restructured the Core Members Meeting format, moving away from traditional session settings and introducing more interactive formats that combined networking with meaningful dialogue, encouraging participants to share their experiences, questions, and best practices. At the 2023 meeting in Toronto, the CMMB introduced interactive round-table discussions, offering participants eight different topics to choose from and creating opportunities for more direct exchange and engagement. In 2024, responding to the rapidly growing interest in artificial intelligence and its potential impact on the moving and relocation industry, the CMMB led the session “AI: What’s in It for Me?”. The highly attended session reflected the strong interest among IAM members in understanding how AI could affect their businesses and how they could begin using emerging technologies in their day-to-day operations. The session in New York in 2025 continued this interactive approach by focusing on “Discovering the Global Pulse” of our industry. Through real-time dialogue between IAM members and their Core Members Management Board (CMMB), the session aimed to surface region-specific business challenges and opportunities while identifying common themes and concerns across the global IAM community.

Throughout the year, the CMMB brings awareness to the regions on IAM programs and assigns regional representatives to contribute to the Portal magazine on leading topics. It also hosts webinars and assists with IAM’s Country guides. One of the CMMB’s most significant initiatives this year was the launch of the Regional Pulse Survey. Between February and April 2026, each CMMB regional representative developed a survey tailored to the priorities and pressures impacting their respective markets. The CMMB and IAM staff then reviewed the findings collectively to identify both regional distinctions and emerging global patterns.

As part of her wider role within IAM, Stier has represented the association at other industry meetings such as IMA and FIDI. Integrating cross-association cooperation with a personal passion for environmental awareness.

In 2021, Stier was the first recipient of the new IAM-YP Rising Star Award. The Rising Star Award recognizes an IAM-YP member who embodies the mission of the IAM Young Professional community and has distinguished themselves through a commitment to professional development, networking with the young professional community, and engaging in philanthropic activities impacting the global moving and mobility industry.
