Leaders of the six founding associations of the Coalition of Associations in Global Mobility (CERC, CHPA, EuRA, FIDI, IAM, and WERC) met in person in Chicago on October 26 to collectively engage in strategic planning discussions about supporting and strengthening our industry in 2027 and beyond.
Sustainability remains core to the coalition’s focus. That includes the environmental leadership the coalition is already known for and that remains critical to global mobility. But it also means ensuring that the industry overall is healthy, viable, and thriving for all of its components and is also equipped to navigate both the challenges and opportunities that global mobility will continue to encounter.
Global mobility is about more than moving belongings. Our industry moves people, families, and careers. Coalition members help employers put talent where and when it is needed. Every part of the mobility ecosystem plays a role, from corporate mobility practitioners and relocation management companies to the movers and service providers who deliver for transferees and assignees every day. When one part of the industry faces challenges, all of it comes under strain. Conversely, opportunities and successes in one part of the ecosystem benefit the industry overall.
The coalition brings together associations from across that ecosystem to make the case that mobility deserves recognition as a strategic investment in people. A sustainable industry is good for everyone: employers, the professionals who serve them, and the individuals and families making the move.
The International Association of Movers is proud to be part of that conversation, and we look forward to sharing more as this work continues into 2027.
