There is more worrying news for international moving companies in the corporate market segment as global companies continue to build their global talent in markets where the workers they need already live.

HR Executive reported that Google is currently building a 20,000-employee campus in Bangalore, while French aerospace company, Thales, plans to add more than 9,000 employees globally, with significant engineering investment focused in India. As some countries increase working visa requirements, such as the wage-based lottery systems and the US$100,000 application fee in the United States, many companies are finding that is is faster and less expensive to recruit in the market where the talent already exists.

According to the article, although corporate accounts are expanding their international hiring footprints, they are pulling back on moving talent across borders. A Corporate Relocation Survey of 558 decision makers by IAMX Validated member Atlas World Group claims international relocations dropped 9% in 2024. They said that companies are spending more money to relocate the same or fewer people. The survey also highlighted a return to in-office working with consultant firm McKinsey finding the number of in-person workers roughly doubled from 34% to 68% between 2023 and 2024.
