IAM is saddened to learn of the passing of Wim de Haan, who helped turn De Haan Relocation from a traditional family business into a leading international relocation company.
In a social media post announcing his death, the Netherlands-headquartered company said that Wim could see the opportunities that growing international mobility and globalization would bring. Under his leadership, De Haan expanded across Europe by road and developed overseas moving services to destinations worldwide. He spent much of his career building lasting relationships with agents and partners around the world, and many of those partnerships still form the core of De Haan’s international network. The company credits him with much of the reputation it holds today, citing his entrepreneurial spirit, international mindset, and deep commitment to quality.
His influence continued long after he retired more than 20 years ago; he served on the company’s Advisory Board until three years ago. He and his wife, Riet, stayed closely involved with De Haan Relocation, its staff, and its retirees until the end. “His legacy lives on in every international relocation we perform and in the many relationships he built throughout his life,” the company said.
IAM extends its deepest condolences to the de Haan family and Wim’s colleagues and friends.
