IAM is saddened to learn of the passing of Sarah Taïeb, the co-founder of AGS, who saw the company grow into the Mobilitas Group operating in over 100 countries.
Sarah Taïeb co-founded the company with her husband in Paris in 1974, funding the AGS launch with savings she had quietly set aside without his knowledge, a detail she recounted herself in a video years later, describing how that money “allowed us to start this company.” From that single Paris office, AGS grew into Mobilitas Group, which manages roughly 30 brands with approximately 5,000 employees across moving, relocation, records management and heritage preservation.
The business she established has remained a family enterprise across generations. Her son, Alain Taïeb, now Chairman of the Supervisory Board, entered the IAM Hall of Honor in 2012, and her daughter, Joëlle Castro, followed in 2021. Her grandson, Cédric Castro, now serves as Chief Executive, marking the group’s third generation of family leadership.
In accepting the Légion d’Honneur in 2019, Joëlle Castro credited her mother with instilling “moral values, a sense of satisfaction for a job well done and effort rewarded, a keen sense for commerce and the ambition to succeed.” In its tribute, Mobilitas Group described Sarah Taïeb as “a pioneer, a builder and an exceptional woman” whose imprint remains visible across the business today.
