Hong Kong-based Relosmart has opened an office in Malaysia to support rapid growth in the market, which now accounts for an average of 15% of the group’s total traffic.
In an update to IAM, Managing Director Lars Kuepper said demand for services in Malaysia has accelerated over the past few years, to the point where Malaysia has overtaken long-established lanes. The Malaysian operation, which is also a member of IAM, is led by General Manager Agillan Ravi, a Kuala Lumpur native with extensive industry experience, who first worked with Kuepper in Singapore 16 years ago.
The new office links Relosmart’s established network in Hong Kong and China with the wider region and brings its services closer to clients. Kuepper described the office as “a strategic milestone that bridges our global vision with local execution, positioning us to better serve our customers where they are.” “While market conditions constantly evolve, the strategic opportunity to enter Malaysia was undeniable,” he said.
