The Suddath Companies has announced that Scott Kelly, president of SGS Move Management, will retire January 31, 2027, after more than 30 years with the company and that Chief Operating Officer Jamie McDaniel will succeed him.

Kelly led the business, formerly Suddath Government Services, through several overhauls of the U.S. military’s personal property program. According to Suddath, his work included the company’s participation in the Department of Defense Household Goods Re-Engineering Program and the Full-Service Moving Project pilot, which selected only six providers worldwide. SGS now manages about 40,000 domestic and international relocations a year for the DoD and the General Services Administration.

McDaniel has spent more than 15 years with the company. His background is in military relocation operations, strategic growth, and SGS’s supply chain network. Before the handover, he and Kelly will meet with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders, and the transition will end with an industry and partner gathering in Jacksonville, Florida, in January 2027.

After retiring, Kelly will stay on the Suddath board of directors. President and CEO Michael Brannigan called him “one of the most consequential leaders in our company’s history.”
