IAM member United Relocations (Thailand) has joined St Andrews International School Sukhumvit 107 and the Bangkok Community Help Foundation (BCHF) to collect, transport, and deliver essential supplies to people affected by severe flooding in and around Bangkok.
Bangkok was declared a disaster zone in late September after days of heavy rain submerged main roads and forced mass evacuations. Recovery is still underway. About 150,000 residents have registered for financial assistance through the city’s Claim Bangkok system, and district offices have inspected damage at around 12,000 households, with another 8,000 cases under review. The city is now preparing for a new round of severe weather, with Thailand’s disaster agency placing Bangkok and 61 provinces on alert from November 5 to 9.
In an update to IAM, the company said that parents and students at St Andrews donated the supplies, and BCHF coordinated the initiative, with United Relocations providing transport and delivery. “It’s heartwarming to see what a community can achieve when people come together to help those in need,” said David De Vos, sales director at United Relocations (Thailand).
