Authorities in the United States and Canada are mounting an aggressive campaign to remove unsafe trucks and unqualified drivers from the road.
Agencies in both countries have carried out enforcement inspections in Arizona, Nebraska, and Ontario, identifying hundreds of safety violations and removing dozens of commercial vehicles and drivers from service. The new blitz follows earlier enforcement actions against drivers operating commercial vehicles without the required license, as well as unsafe equipment violations, in Arizona, California, and Indiana.
In the latest round of inspections, Arizona Highway Patrol placed 13 trucks and 23 drivers out of service, Nebraska troopers uncovered 155 violations, and Ontario inspectors sidelined more than half the trucks checked.
