Two major shipping lines have sent communications notifying customers that they are resuming regular service to the Port of La Guaira, following the following the twin 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes that created delays and increased costs for shipments in transit.

In an update to IAM, AMP Movers International reported that MSC said they are resuming regular service immediately, with Hapag-Lloyd announcing that their next vessel will be berthing at La Guaira on July 20. It is likely that other shipping lines will follow these actions.

IAM Member Impact: Members should communicate closely with their chosen IAM partner to confirm any updates to the port of discharge in Venezuela.
