Chair Nominees

I would like to nominate Stefan Cordeiro, President of Stewart Moving & Storage. In addition to being an outspoken & impactful advocate for our industry during the GHC period, Stefan is a second generation mover. He started in the moving business helping his father and brother on the trucks in the summer. Stefan is already a 35-year veteran of the industry, serving as a warehouse manager and an owner operator before joining Stewart Moving & Storage. His outstanding work ethic and personal integrity got him the GM position in Jacksonville FL in 2008. From there he grew that location’s business to three times its size. In addition to improving the quality of service to its customers, Stefan was instrumental in opening the Pensacola Florida office and was made a member of the board of directors for The Wes Stewart Corporation in 2015. When speaking with Stefan Cordeiro, he had this to say about his passion for the industry: “I have been doing this all my life and I really love the challenges. I look forward to my new role as president of Stewart Moving & Storage. Stewart is a great company and I am really excited about my new role, responsibilities and challenges.

With 13 years of experience in the moving and storage industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work through nearly every facet of our business, from operations support to dispatcher, operations manager, and now Vice President of Republic Moving and Storage. This journey has given me not just a broad understanding of the industry, but a deep respect for every role that keeps it moving.

I pride myself on being a versatile communicator, someone who believes that the personal interconnectivity between people is what elevates performance from good to great. Whether bridging the gap between sales and operations, customer and mover, or business to business, I strive to ensure that all voices are heard while maintaining a strong culture of listening.

Hard work is paramount in our field, but I also believe it’s equally important to bring humor, perspective, and humanity into what we do. Wearing multiple hats over the years has taught me that leadership isn’t just about decisions, it’s about relationships, resilience, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.

If elected Chair of the DAB, I aim to bring that same balance of experience, empathy, and drive to foster stronger connections across our community and ensure our collective voice is both heard and valued.

Why I Am Running for Vice Chair
I am seeking the role of Vice Chair of the DAB Management Board because I believe in the strength and future of our industry when we work collaboratively. Our sector faces unique challenges—ranging from evolving customer expectations to tightening labor markets and regulatory shifts—and the DAB community has a vital role in shaping practical, forward-thinking solutions. My leadership philosophy centers on constant process improvement and asking the “Why” behind our practices. By continually questioning how we operate, we uncover opportunities to refine efficiencies, improve service quality, and enhance the value we deliver to customers and stakeholders alike.
As Vice Chair, I would work to ensure that the voices of all DAB members—large and small, across every region—are heard and represented. I believe in fostering open communication, strengthening partnerships, and championing initiatives that advance innovation while protecting the integrity of asset-based movers. Together, we can elevate the professionalism of our industry and position the DAB group as a trusted leader in the future of domestic moving.
