Following last weekend’s events in Venezuela, IAM members have provided the first industry update on the current situation for moving and relocation operations.

In response to the request from e-Portal to all IAM members in the country, Clover InternacionalMI GlobalAMP Movers, and Equixpress, have confirmed that their teams are safe and well. Elene Sofia Reyes Mari of Equixpress said that after a “pretty chaotic” weekend where many shops and businesses remained closed “everything is now calm and seems normal.”

All members confirmed that port and airport operations are operating and that the national airspace has reopened. “We expect air freight schedules to begin normalizing as airlines resume their regular frequencies,” said Zenaida Romero of MI Global.

In terms of origin and destination services, members are proceeding with caution. “Our primary focus remains the physical integrity of our team and the safeguarding of the goods under our custody. We are assessing road security and transit routes in real-time before dispatching any crews,” said Mariela Heredia of Clover.

Pablo Diaz of AMP Movers echoed the concern for caution. “At this very moment the staff are all working from our homes and only essential personnel are visiting our offices for a few hours a day. We are at full capacity to respond to any local and international requests that come in, but packing and delivery operations are currently limited for obvious safety reasons,” he said.

Members are encouraged to reach out to their IAM partner in Venezuela regarding any ongoing shipments, and e-Portal will continue to provide updates.
