IAMTrusted member DASA International Movers warns that the welcome two-week ceasefire in the Middle East conflict does not mean an immediate resolution to the shipping and logistics situation in the Gulf.

In an update to IAM, DASA Chief Executive Officer Craig Reilly cautioned that the ceasefire does not mean a reopening, but an extraction window for moving trapped vessels and cargo in the event of further conflict. “The east coast ports; Sohar, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, and Fujairah; are functioning as evacuation gateways right now, not trade gateways. There is a meaningful difference between the two,” said Reilly, warning that “End of Voyage” discharges remain active, and that surcharges remain in place until insurers see a sustained period of incident-free sailings.
